SAVAGE! People give him shit as an All-American CP douche, but he's not that at all. I adore how he was the most team captain-y team captain that's ever been on the show. He bled tribe pride with more intensity and sincerity than any character was ever shown to do so *cough* sincerity *cough* Rupert *cough*.

94. Julie Berry (Vanuatu): Julie was a perpetual underdog in her season. Originally, her tribe was split pretty clearly with equal factions representing the "young" and the "old" ... She ends up on the wrong side of the numbers after these two alliances go head to head, but she keeps her head down and tries not to cause waves, choosing instead to let the more dramatic of her alliance mates throw themselves under the bus. Then she gets swapped, where again she is outnumbered, but a little savvy gameplay on her part, plus the fact that everyone absolutely adored her, keeps her safe until merge. At merge, she's at the very bottom of the totem pole in the power alliance. She uses an outrageous amount of charm to make the majority alliance love her and very nearly manages to flip the numbers so that she'll be in the final 4 or 3 or 2 a couple of times. Unfortunately, due not to her mistakes, but the mistakes of those around her, she is never quite able to overcome her underdog status and finishes in fifth. At final tribal, she's really the star of the show and a big flashing sign for the audience that says "THIS IS WHY THE WINNER WINS" ... She's really just great. You just realized that this entire write-up also applies to Teresa Cooper.

93: Dave Ball (Samoa): I feel bad that I don't have a ton to talk about in this write up - I saw Samoa so long ago, and wasn't watching Survivor as closely as I am now. So if anyone wants to supplement this, feel free. Anyway, Dave is a fun character, with a collection of golden moments (makin love, pirate Dave, etc.) and is a reliable narrator for the Galu's pre-merge. I'm happy he made it to the Top 100, but ultimately, I think he suffers from the opposite problem of Kelly/Jenna: he's a fun character, but he doesn't have any narrative. That puts him above them, in my boo, but we're at the point where we need a good dose of both.

92. Neleh Dennis (Marquesas) - after examining who's left on the list, and eliminating all the people I am no longer allowed to cut, I am left with Neleh as the least dynamic person left on the list. Neleh had some fun moments, but this is where the big boys and girls play, so she and her used mint have reached the end of the line.

91. Parvati Shallow (Heroes vs. Villains) Parv was at her best. We saw her laugh at JT, pass out two idols, and intentionally fuck with Russell because she felt like it. Although she was Russell's handler, Parvati was at her best in HvV and really owned up to the title, and it was fun. She lacks the same kind of hilarity that other people bring, or the ability to make other characters better, or just make scenes awesome by being there, so she gets axed right here.

90. Todd Herzog (China): My fingers are tired from typing out Pure results, so I'll handle this later. Sorry.

89. Silas Gaither (Africa): Fun pre-merge douche in Africa (until he got rekt by T-Bird and co). Was the head of the Mallrats and was seen as an early swing vote between the two sides (lol as if he was ever gonna betray the mallrats). Then, the twist came and Silas got absolutely pwnt by T-Bird and Frank. Did he get fucked over by the twist? Sure. Was it worth it? Abso-fucking-lutely.

88. Bobby Jon Drinkard (Guatemala): Bobby Jon loosened up a little bit in his second season. He was a little more comfortable playing the game and was a de facto "leader" of his tribe which gave us more versatility from BJD. His feud with Jamie (and his lack of self-awareness during it) is a great sub-plot, as is their bro-down in the jury when Gary Hogeboom descends from on high to spike Stephenie into the earth. But overall, it's mostly the same story different chapter for Bobby Jon. He's alright. Sometimes he's a little better than alright, but at the end of the day he can't carry a scene like the rest of the people in the rankdown can.

Was tossing two people from Gabon back and forth in my head a bit, and sorry Don, I'm letting the other one slide.
87: Bob Crowley (Gabon): Bob is interesting. Typically, the older guy is divided into either the "wizened mentor" archetype, or maybe the "grumpy old man" (which Randy perfected, mind you) archetype. But Bob's...incredibly unique, in my book.
He seemed to be more or less clueless as to how to play the game - he spent the entire pre-merge at the bottom of the Onion's, and if I remember correctly was deemed "disposable." But this isn't a regular season of Survivor - this is mothafuckin' Gabon, and it will shun your ideas of "good" gamesmanship. By virtue of being on one of the winningest tribes in Survivor history, Bob doesn't really have much to do pre-merge. He's just kinda...there. Which is a mark against him in my book, but whatever.
Bob’s also incredibly hard working, and that gets him a ton of positive SPV. No one really seemed to dislike Bob, and his strategy of “be nice, work hard, and be clueless” got him to the merge, because no one saw him as a threat. When he gets there he’s in the minority, because Gabon, but he manages to duck the target for a few votes, and pulls off an immunity run that gets him to the F4. Upon which, in a really interesting scene, Sugar decides “the good guys gotta win” and forces the tie, sending Matty out. (RIP sweet prince.) Bob then, rather predictably, wins by being the “least objectionable” F3 member.
There’s definitely a lot of interesting facets to Bob’s character. He’s the old man, but he’s not the “old man” character- he’s kinda like your crackpot uncle, hardworking, endearing, but clueless, and I don’t know that there’s many, or even any, survivor’s that fit that sort of role like Bob. It’s just an interesting juxtaposition to how they usually cast older men, and I liked it a lot.
As for specific things he did, the fake idol was fun, shows some strategic acumen and gave us Randy’s crowning moment. I also like the moments where he expresses fondness for his family, and some other cool stuff like his safari. But for a winner, he really, really wasn’t shown - that’s why we sent Vecepia out. Bob’s underdog story was fun, and I’m happy that the nice guy won (I mean c’mon, Fabio’s my favorite character I got a place in my heart for Bob) - but there isn’t enough substance for him to get much further, even if he’s a winner.

87. Eliza Orlins (Micronesia) - Eliza in Vanuatu is a top 50 character easy. Eliza in Micronesia is barely a top 100 character. Jason giving her the stick and her OTT facial reactions during Tribal Councils is what gets her into the top 100, but there's just too many primo characters still on the board to take her any further.

86. Jerri Manthey (All-Stars) Jerri outlasted people like Rory, Silas, and Amy, and I'm not entirely sure how. Jerri in All-Stars have us 3 moments: 1. Fighting with Rupert over the Deathshelter 2. Voting Colby out in one of the best voting confessionals ever. 3. Getting axed because Lex decided to save Amber. That's All-Stara Jerri, so...yeah.

85: Erinn Lobdell (Tocantins): I really like Erinn, but I'm getting to a point where favs are gonna get cut left and right. By herself Erinn is pretty great, but she brings out a lot of things in Coach that helps him become the legend he is. Her flipping on Timbira was great and prevented a Jalapao pagonging, which i will always be thankful for. I just like the other three Toca people left, so bye Erinn. You were a good Erinn.
