418. Holly Hoffman (Nicaragua) - holy crap, was this chick annoying. Holly and Jane tag teamed to elevate Nicaragua to a level of suckitude other seasons can only sit back and admire. Oh my god you're slaying CPP Warrior HoHo over borewhores and offensive people, HoHo's arc is amazing.

418: Stephenie LaGrossa (Heroes vs. Villains). Yay, Steph picked a fight with James because her way is the right way always, apparently. That, combined with her showboating at the reunion right after Sandra's win, were both bad. I'm always taking James' side of this argument.

It physically pains me to have to do this, because I was really looking forward to the reactions to playing this idol on the person I was reserving it for, but that is way, WAY too low for Holly. She's an awesome character in an awesome season, and deserves top hundred for sure - placing her in the four hundreds is lunacy, Lex. Sorry man, I know this has happened to a bunch of your cuts, but I GOTTA idol it.

417: Sue Hawk (All Stars): I get it, anyone would probably be traumatized by touching an exposed Hatch package. But her blow up at Jeff was just way too uncomfortable to watch, and her quit was the turning point where All Stars went from fun to "oh god is this really happening." Also fun fact, that week Tylenol did it's weekly poll of which contestant "fought through the pain" the best that episode. Guess who won. Yup. If I remember correctly no such poll was ever done again.

Hey, we obviously have vastly different ideas of good and bad Survivor characters. But I don't mind. Pretty soon you'll all be out of idols and kicking yourself for wasting them on lame-o's like Holly.

416: Rita Verreos (Fiji): She got voted out because she was really fucking annoying, basically. Literally her boot episode was about her being annoying and that was why she was voted out. She has a brother who was on Project Runway (I think) and he did substantially better than her. Rita was on Ravu and was not Earl/Yau/Sylvia so...yeah. Enjoy 415 Rita!

415: Richard Hatch (Borneo): God this guy was such an asshole. Cocky fuck who pranced around naked the whole time and had the win wrapped up so early. Really made the season a boring watch. I'm glad he got taken out early in Allstars.
...
Oh whoops sorry I thought we were doing Lex impressions. Here's my real cut.
415: Jenny Guzon-Bae (Cook Islands): There are a few players who get blindsided by transparently unfair twists. Silas, Savage, Shii Ann, Michelle Yi, and Aaron all have very vocal fanbases proclaiming how r.obbed they were. However, despite the fact that she was taken out by a bullshit Bottle Twist, nobody really cares about how there was no way for Jenny to defend herself, and that's completely indicative of her character: Even when presented with an easy argument for how r.obbed she is and one of the most blatantly simple nicknames ever (Jenny Guzon-BAE <3 ), nobody still cares about her. That's completely on her as a character, and that's why she's 415th.

414: Diane Ogden(Africa): She was a first boot and I don't remember a thing she said or did.
Cool.

I'm glad he got taken out early in Allstars. Oh, come on now! I would have at least waited until the top 200 for Hatch!

413 Francesca Hogi (RI): Bye Fran, you're the first boot of a bad season. The only reason you're still here is because you were first boot twice so people remember you.

412: Lisa Whelchel (Phillipines): Look, I can appreciate a good growth arc as much as the next guy. When done well, it can be really cool. But Lisa actually was what people like to claim Dawn was in Caramoan: someone who was CONSTANTLY crying. The dichotomy between wanting to play but being burdened by your promises could've been great TV, and I felt like that's what they were going for with the whole Penner angle, but it just never landed with me. And I acknowledge that others might appreciate what the editors were trying to do here. But if the arc can’t land with someone like me, who is a large segment of their audience, as far as I’m concerned it failed. It didn’t make me look past her negative qualities and the irritation that caused me when I saw her on my screen, which means it quite simply didn’t work. I’m sure she’s a fantastic lady in real life, but she made me feel fatigued watching her on Survivor, which is why I’m cutting her.

411. Jimmy Johnson (Nicaragua) - you guys can never understand how much it pains me to cut the old football coach. I bleed Silver and Blue, and Double J gave me two glorious Super Bowls. But he was just physically unprepared for the rigors of Survivor. And it's ironic, since Survivor saved his life. But he couldn't cut it physically, and he couldn't motivate his tribe, and he was just really bland, which is criminal since he's such a character in real life. But ultimately, he brought nothing to the season.
