139: Dodrio: Mostly because I just want to preempt RJ before he cuts this. But yea, the reasoning holds - how the fuck does it clone itself, like developing new brains and shiz, when it evolves? It just like...befuddles me. So yeah, unoriginal idea, unoriginal Pokemon, buh-bye.

137. Weepinbell. Weeingbell has this really derpy design, one of my least favorites of the first gen. It's a big step down from Zachsprout AND Victreebell, and you only encounter it while stomping Erica, unless you're unlucky and find its ugly mug somewhere.

 132. SlowbroSo canonically, Slowpoke evolves when a Shellder bites his tail. It then turns into a Slowbro. I have a multitude of problems with this. 1) That thing looks absolutely nothing like a Shellder nor anything looking like a Shellder. 2) This evolution is not represented in the games at all. Slowpoke levels up just like every other little fucker in the game. There is no special interaction at all, and believe me, little 9-year-old RJ tried EVERYTHING he could think of. 3) Even if it did work, that doesn't make any fucking sense. When you did encounter a Slowbro, he was no fun to battle with or against. He was a big ol' wall that liked to inflict statuses on you, and your only choice was just to spam Thunderbolt until it went away. What's that? He confused your Electric type? Well buckle in kids because you're going on Mr. Slowbro's Wild* Ride! * Actually not all that wild. Just excruciating. |
