151. Geodude. Geodude probably has one of the worst designs in Gen 1, and will annoy the shit out of you through Mt. Moon and Rock Tunnel. It isn't as well-designed or lulzy as Zubat or as useful as Rattata or Tentacool. A fitting last placer.

 146. JynxI'm try to decide whether to focus on how creepy Jynx's design is or how racist Jynx's design is. Jynx looks like a blonde Snookie in blackface, and inexplicably gets portrayed somewhat "seductively" far too often. It's weird. I don't like it. Jynx also is kind of shitty in the game. Despite a relatively neat dual typing (Ice/Psychic), Jynx is basically asking to get beat the hell up with her mediocre physical stats. Jynx iz badd. |

144: Kakuna: Look, I get Metapod. Metapod actually looks kinda cool for what amount to the Pokemon equivalent of a statue. Kakuna...he's just weird. Like, his design is kinda wonky, and I just was never happy with Kakuna, even compared to like, Metapod. Weedle/Beedrill are awesome...Kakuna not so much.

 141. MagnetonMagnemite is an average enough Pokemon. He's got a design that goes alright with Gen One's overarching theme of genetic engineering. I dislike lazy evolutions though, and Magneton is just three Pokemon of average design duct taped together. Without giving too much away, this is not uncommon in Gen One and will contribute to later cuts of mine (probably). Also, Magneton is kind of shitty stats-wise. The electric Pokemon you'd rather have instead of him include: All of them. |
