12. The Silence of the Lambs - I feel like the only reason I haven't eliminated this movie so far is because of the fava beans and chianti line lolol I'm actually surprised that this movie won Best Picture but it did immortalize one of my favorite villains ever. Unfortunately, Hannibal isn't in this movie nearly enough for me to let it get any farther than 12th.

13. Schindler's List: I've always found Schindler's List to be a very overrated film, but saying so gets you stoned to death. We have a villain who is absolutely evil vs. a hero who has an epiphany and becomes a paragon of righteousness. It's a heavy movie, and like 12 Years A Slave, the message is "The Holocaust is bad". When Spielberg once said that the film was an accurate representation of the Holocaust, Stanley Kubrick retorted with the fact the film is about saving 600 Jews, while the Holocaust was the persecution of 6 million Jews. (There were 11 million people total, but the point stands). Liam Neeson is overrated and gives an above-average performance that is enhanced due to the subject matter and Ralph Fiennes' awfulness (He's fucking fantastic). It isn't a bad movie, but it isn't this masterpiece some people paint it out to be. Actually, the film is about saving 1100 Jews.

10. On the Waterfront - I just watched this movie today because it was the last one left that I haven't seen. Take that as a testament to how dedicated I am to this, bitches. And also as a testament to the disgusting amount of free time I have now that finals are done. This entire rankdown has actually convinced me to watch every single Best Picture winner this summer. Anyway, I digress. This movie did not blow me away at all. I'm not a man of refined taste so forgive me for not really seeing how this movie slipped into the top 10 but I'm cutting it here, and I likely would have cut it much earlier had I seen it earlier.

9. The Silence of the Lambs - shocking to me that this is in the top 10 over The Deer Hunter. I meant to cut this right after it was idol'd, but I thought that would be a dick move. Now I feel stupid for not doing it.

The film itself is good, Brando is the part that makes it amazing.
